  	BARBARA JEAN JOPLIN A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Depot Restaurant for Barbara Jean Joplin, 72, of Oroville who passed away in Oroville on September 25, 2006. All friends are invited to attend. Barbara was born September 25, 1934 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Harold and Dora McMahan. Barbara has lived in the Oroville area since 1966 with her husband of 53 years, Bill Joplin. Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Bridge and attending the bridge clubs. Barbara was a founding member of the "Hit and Giggle Tennis Club". She was also a speaker and an auctioneer for the Children's Home Society and was once on the Oroville Planning Commission. She was a member of the Omega Nu Society. Barbara is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Bill Joplin of Oroville; her mother, Dora McMahan of Yuba City; one son, William H. Joplin and his wife Barbara of Truckee; one daughter, Teresa Gesicki and her husband Lou of Sacramento; one sister Patricia Mitchell of Yuba City; four grandchildren Kiel Gesicki, Nicholas Gesicki, Katie Gesicki, all of Sacramento, and Jessica Joplin of Truckee; one grandchild, Chaz Joplin, precedes her in death. Interment will be private. Services are under the direction of Scheer Memorial Chapel. Published in Chico Enterprise-Record on Sept. 29, 2006
