Mrs Sellick
Sudden Death
Mrs Sellick, of Shallow Crossing, Clyde River, who has been staying, at Moruya for a little while where she was taken for medical treatment under Dr Quilter, went on to Braidwood by coach on Saturday, accompanied by her husband and daughter.
Dr Quilter having recommended the change. She was taken to Mrs Allen's hotel, but she was in such a weak state that she had to be assisted off the coach to her room. She was
no sooner laid on the bed than she expired. The severity of the weather, and the exposure and fatigue of a long journey (remarks the Despatch.) no doubt hastened her end and had the change of weather been foreseen, she would not have been removed at the time she was. Her body was taken to
Nelligen to be buried with the remains of other members of the family. Owing to the flooded state of Currowang Creek there was some detention at the crossing there, and the
boisterious weather made the journey not only a trying but a perilous one.
