FATAL ACCIDENT.-On Tuesday, the 14th instant, about 5 p.m., Edward Murphy, a young man, a servant to Mr. C. W. May, of Pitt Town, was proceeding from Baulkham Hills towards Parramatta with an empty waggon, when the horses took fright at a flock of sheep which met them. He held on by the leading horse till he was knocked down, when the waggon passed over his body, crushing him dreadfully. He was taken up insensible, and removed to Mr Kelly's, post-office, but died about 9 o'clock p.m. Mr Kelly treated the unfortunate man with much kindness, and sent to Parramatta for a clergyman of the Roman Catholic Church and a doctor. Dr. Brown and clergyman came, but too late to be of much service. An inquest took place next day, when a verdict of "accidental death" was returned. He had been a servant of Mr. May for fourteen years, was much valued by his master, and deeply regretted by all that knew him in the neighbourhood of Pitt Town. He leaves a widow and three helpless children.
