- Marvin Arnold "Jake" Jacobsen
Beloved father, age 92, passed away in his home in Roseburg, Oregon on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. He was born in Metropolitan, California, to Arnold Jacobsen and Amelia Jacobsen (Bundesen) on January 25, 1924. Marvin graduated from Klamath Union High School and worked as a machinist. He married Ann Walker in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He later married Doris Jane Travis in Medford, OR in 1955. Doris passed away in 1985 and he married Vera Marie Chappell.
Marvin, or "Jake" as he is known in the industry, worked his way up from machinist to draftsman and then to engineer. In 1969, he and his family moved to Winston, OR, to work as an engineer for Forrest Industries in Dillard. He then became chief engineer at Keystone Machine and after that worked as a consulting engineer, designing sawmills. He has several patents for machinery in wood products. Marvin loved the outdoors ? camping, hunting, fishing, and golf. After retirement, he loved to do gunsmithing in his home machine shop.
Marvin is survived by his wife Marie; his children Lonnie Anderson of Harrison, Arkansas, Dana Jacobsen, wife Molly and family of Roseburg, OR, Carol Eisenlohr and husband Jay of Beaverton, OR, Ron Jacobsen, wife Margret and family of Puyallup, Washington, Mike Jacobsen, wife Kerri and family of Oregon City, OR; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold Jacobsen and Amelia Gillette; his brother Eugene Jacobsen; former wife Ann Anderson; and wife Doris Jacobsen.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 1, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Winston Foursquare Gospel Center, 540 SE Main (corner of Thompson) in Winston, OR.
