FATAL BURNING ACCIDENT.
ROCKHAMPTON, September 5.
Acting Sergeant Reeves, of Many Peaks, in a report relating to the death of Mrs. Eva Eleanor Stovold , as a result of a burning accident at Bullyan (where she resided with her husband and family, states that on September 1, her brother- in- law (George Stovold) , who was going to inspect some cattle, asked hcr to cut him some lunch, and she said she would make him a cup of tea. He walked towards his horse and when about 20 yards from the house he heard an explosion. Looking back he saw the place on fire. He rushed back and found his sister-in-law lying on the floor enveloped in flames. He put blankets around her. Mrs. Stovold said, "I'm done for ; where are the chldren." Stovold managed to get the fire out. Near the stove he picked up portions of a benzine tin which had been burst. Mrs. Stovold was taken to the Many Peaks Hospital, where she died 18 hours after admission. At the hospital Mrs. Stovold stated that she went to put kerosine on the fire in the stove, but used benzine in error.
