Orange Blossom. "The Stawell Times of October 7 contained the following:-On Wednesday, 2nd October, a very pretty wedding was celebrated at the residence of Mr. W. Hold, "Lilydale," Pomonal, by the Rev C. M. Lowe, the contracting parties being Mr. Reuben J. Cook, second son of Mr. and Mrs R. Cook, 'Walook' , Portland, and Miss. Selina Hold, second daughter of Mr. W. Hold, Pomonal. A large number of friends of the young couple were present to witness the ceremony. The bride who was given away by her father, looked charming, being dressed in a hand-embroidered frock of ivory crepe-de-chine, finished with pearls. She also wore the customary wreath and veil and carried a bouquet of white lilac, camelias and asparagus fern with white streamers. She was attended by her sister, Miss. Bessie Hold, who wore dainty frock of white embroidered voile and a pretty lace mob cap and carried a bouquet of white banksia and pink roses with asparagus fern and white and pink streamers. Mr. S. Cook, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. A dainty wedding breakfast was partaken of in the dining room, where toasts suitable for the occasion were enthusiastically honored. The happy couple left amidst a shower of confetti by motor car to catch the evening train en route for Melbourne and Geelong, where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride travelled in a nigger brown serge costume with a hand embroidered crepe de-chine blouse, and wore a pretty black velvet hat with touches of pink. The presents, which were handsome and costly, included several cheques. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a gold signet ring, the bridegroom's to the bride a gold en graved bangle, while the bridesmaid received a pretty brooch set with rubies. Their future residence will be at Portland.
