OBITUARY.
The death occurred on Tuesday last at his residence at Bingham, Piaba district, of Mr. Abel Austin, aged 88 years. Deceased was born in Oxford- shire , England, and came out to Queensland in the year 1874, landing at Maryborough. Soon after his arrival he was engaged as a blacksmith at Degilbo Station, where he remained for six years. In 1881 he selected land in the Pialba district, and had resided there up to the time of his death. His wife predeceased him some years ago. Deceased had a family of eight, four of whom predeceased him. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Zachariah Austin, St. John Austin, Mrs. Nielsen and Mrs. Lars Anderson, all of the Pialba district; also a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral took place on Wednesday from his late residence, the interment. taking place at the Nikenbah cemetery. The service at the graveside was read by Missionary Thompson, Merers. Kirk and Son carried out the funeral arrangements.
