Although the weather was inclined to be wintry a large number of people attended the hall last week when a concert programme was given by a company of local young ladies. The hall was most tastefully and artistically decorated for the occasion by Misses Ray, Grayson and Jen. Anderson. The stage represented a pierrot bower. The first half of the programme took the form of a pierrot entertainment. Mr Anderson unveiled the Pomonal State School Honor roll. He eulogised, in a few chosen words, the value of the roll, and expressed the great pleasure he had to perform, and asked the audience to join in his wish that the boys, whose names appeared thereon, would soon be victorious in helping to quell the tyrannous foe. Mr F. Allsop and Mr Murphy also spoke. They were proud of the lads, and it seemed as though the formation of an honor roll was a very small appreciation for what the boys were doing for them. Both gentlemen congratulated Miss Grayson, the head teacher, on her forethought in this movement, and also on the very capable and artistic manner in which she had executed the work.
The roll is surrounded by a laurel wreath and suitably swathed are the Union Jack and the Australian Flags Below the scroll are the words, "Duty nobly done.'" A most handsome oak frame contains the roll. The public contributed towards procuring same.
For the benefit of all Mr Morcom then read the names from the roll. They are as follows:--K. Anderson, A. Bristow, E. Barber, A. Hold, J. Hold, C. L. Jamrpen, T. E. M0rcom, H Morcom, W. Nason, R. Wettenhall. One of these heroes, C. L. Jampen, has made the supreme sacrifice, he being one of the Gallipoli heroes. The company then joined in singing "God Bless our Splendid Men."

    KINGAROY SHOW.
    FINE ILLAWARRAS.
    POTATOES AND COTTON.
    KINGAROY, April 30.
The 20th exhibition of the Kingaroy Agricultural, Pastoral, and Industrial Society was opened to-day in cloudy weather, but no rain fell. Generally
speaking, the show does not come up to that of last year. Eighteen hundred entries were received, which is several hundred short compared with last year. Illawarra milking Short horns formed the best section of the show. Of the Jerseys, only about three or four head were in show condition, and the Ayrshires, also, were a poor lot.
The produce pavilion did not reflect the district's great potentialities. The maize generally was of poor quality, some of it being actually in the milky stage. However, a splendid variety of English potatoes compensates for the maize exhibit, whilst a giant cattle pump kin of 1281b. weight, exhibited by Julius Wagner, of Coolabania, showed that the soil at Kingaroy can, and does, grow produce to perfection.
There were 11 cotton exhibits, pride of place being gained by A. Hold, a returned soldier on the Gordon Brook soldier settlement, with his splendid parcel of Upland cotton.
