 | Royal Navy boarding party on board HMS Kiawo Capt Williamson, centre front. Party consisted of Cdr Frederick Darley (killed, MID), Lt Alfred Higgins (seriously wounded and died, MID) and 20 men from light cruiser HMS Dispatch, Lt Jack Peterson from HMS Scarab, Sub Lt Christopher Bridge (killed, MID) from HMS Cockchafer, and about 40 PO's and men from HMS Scarab and Mantis. In addition to the three officers, four Able Seaman were also killed. |
