COOLABUNIA, Monday.
The district is looking very well after the summer rains. Milking machines have recently been installed by Messrs. P. J. Bundesen and J. Ford. There are now five plants in the district, which fact speaks well for the prosperity of this corner of the South Burnett .
On Wednesday a pleasant social evening was given by Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Springer, in honour of their sons.
Constables D. and W. Sprenger, and their wives, who are shortly returning to their homes in Townsville and Rockhampton, after spending their vacation here.
Mr. A. Bundesen nd Mr. and Mrs. H. Schwenke, from North Queensland, are at present spending a holiday with Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Bundesen.

BEST RECIPE FOR WEEK-ENDED , JUNE 18, 1945
BAKED TRIPE ROLL
Half-pound tripe, 2 potatoes, 1 cup breadcrumbs, 1 tablespoon tomato sauce, 1 tablespoon of finely cut onion, 4 rashers of bacon, if preferred, pepper and salt to taste. Keeping tripe in one piece, boil in cold water, then simmer about 1/2 hour, or until nice and tender, lift out and drain. Have the potatoes cooked, and mash them with the crumbs, onions and sauce, mix well, spread on tripe (smooth side up to put mixture on). Roll up lightly and tie, and roll all in flour. Put into a baking dish, cover with bacon rashers, or dot with dripping; add a little water and cook for about half an hour.
