Mrs Pedersen, one of Nikenbah's oldest residents passed away on Saturday morning, at an early hour, after a very brief illness. The deceased lady was born in Denmark, and came to Queensland in the year 1872, and had resided in this district since her arrival; residing in Maryborough for many years with her first husband, the late Mr John Mickelson, who predeceased her twelve years ago. She is survived by her husband, Mr Jens Pedersen, Nikenbah, two daughters, Mrs Christina L. Fagerstrom and Mrs Alice Winning, both of Townsville, and one son, John Andrew, Nikenbah.
The funeral, which moved from her late residence on Saturday afternoon, was largely attended by relatives and friends. Impressive services were conducted at the residence and graveside by Messrs A. Andersen and H. Messer. Floral tributes and a family immortelle were placed on the grave. The pall-bearers from the residence to the hearse were Messrs W. Taylor, Senr., W. Taylor, Junr., F. Curtis, J. Curtis, W. Pedersen and A. Andersen, and from the hearse to the graveside, Messrs F. Stalley, W. Pedersen, W. Taylor, S. J. and F. Curtis.
