    • Halvdan Wexelsen Freihow (born November 22, 1883 in Tana , died December 20, 1965 ) was a Norwegian priest, advocate and literary scholar. He became cand. Theol. in 1909, was then for a year personal chaplain with Christopher Bruun in Johanneskirken in Oslo . Later he was parish priest in Rauland , Vinje , Gjerpen , Inderøy and Bergen, among others . [1] In 1950 he became a prostitute in Skien prostitute. (prost i Skien prost). During World War II, Freihow clearly expressed his opposition to the occupation regime and was imprisoned in Åkebergveien , the Archives and finally on Grini from 12 May to 12 June 1943.

      In 1937, Freihow became Dr. philos on Henrik Ibsen's dissertation «Brand»; literary-psychological study . [3] He was a supporter of the case and was in the period 1926?1936 chairman of Norway's youth team .

      He was married to Helene Ingeborg Godskesen (1890-1953), and the father of, among others, the diplomat Håkon Wexelsen Freihow . He was the grandfather of the author Halfdan Freihow
