Lauritz Albert Zwergius Estrup (born 5 December 1890 in Horsens , died 20 March 1974 ) was a Danish editor-in-chief , business historian and conservative politician.
He was the son of architect Hector Estrup and his wife Alba b. Zwergius, became a student in 1908 , cand. polit. 1914 and received a journalistic education at Aarhuus Stiftstidende 1915 - 18 . Estrup was editor at The New North 1918- 23 , Secretary of the Committee for the illumination of state monopolies 1920 - 21 , was the chief editor of National Journal 1921 28 and a member of the Radio Council in 1925 -28 and economic policy assistant at Aarhuus Herald-Tribune .
Estrup was secretary of the Conservative Electoral Association for Copenhagen and Frederiksberg 1930 - 51 , was a member of Copenhagen's Citizens' Representation for the Conservative People's Party 1938 - 50 , councilor for the Magistrate's 5th department 1950- 54 and afterwards mayor for the magistrate's 4th department (technical and town planning mayor ) from 1954 to 1962 . He was also a member of Copenhagen Harbor Board in 1950 and auditor of Bank of Copenhagen and Environs 1941 - 56 .
He was a Knight of the 1st degree of Dannebrog and decorated with the Legion of Honor .
Estrup was married in 1937 to Else Grundtvig (October 26, 1903 in Copenhagen -), daughter of professor , dr. jur. LA Grundtvig and wife Thora f. Levy.
