Biography Emil Rosenstand first trained as a sculptor, but already at the Academy of Fine Arts he decided to become a painter. After settling in Berlin, however, it became predominantly illustration assignments that he engaged in. He became a widely used employee at Berlin's Fliegende Blätter. In particular, he drew period-typical, sometimes slightly satirical depictions of young girls, elegant ladies and lieutenants. At the same time he was used as an illustrator of German entertainment literature. The main work is probably the drawn cycle A Young Girl's Life in a Mild Satirical Style.
