NAMPA - Funeral services for Thomas J. Croxen Sr., 79, of 143 Hudson St, who died Monday evening April 24, 1967 at a Boise hospital following an extended illness, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel with Rev. Edward Dixon, of the Nampa First Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers for the service will be Roy Hensen, Harold Mackey, Robert Stigile, Mike Hall, Alex Reizenstein, and David Hooper.
Mr. Croxen was born 9 Jan 1888 at Giltner, Hamilton, Neb., to Richard William Croxen and Elizabeth Jane Wright. He served in the US Army during World War I in 1917 and 1918.
He married to Mary Ann Clary on 1 Oct 1924, at Torrington, Goshen, WY. He farmed at Bayard, Neb., for a number of years. They moved to Nampa in 1946, and he worked as a farm hand in the Nampa area until his retirement in 1952. He was a member of the Methodist Church, and a member of War Eagle Barracks No. 459, Veterans of World War I, of Nampa.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Ann Croxen of Nampa; four sons, Richard Croxen of Madras, Ore., Thomas J. Croxen Jr. of Nampa, Jerry Croxen of Madras, Ore., and Edward Croxen of Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Allen of Caldwell, and Mrs. Twila Grubbs of Modesto, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Reab of Giltner, Neb., and Mrs. Minnie Bye of Modesto, Calif.; two brothers, Emerson Croxen of Los Angeles, Calif., and Cyrus Croxen of Hyannis, Neb. Twenty grand-children and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by one son and one daughter.
