OBITUARY
MRS. ANE T. CHRISTENSEN
Another of the old Danish settlers and pioneers of the Nikenbah district, Mrs. Ane Thomine Christensen, passed away yesterday at Maryborough. The late Mrs. Christensen. who was 79 years of age, was born in Denmark and came to Queensland, landing at Maryborough, about 55 years ago. With her husband, the late Mr. Hans Jorgen Marius Christensen, who predeceased her by two years, she went to Nikenbah immediately after her arrival. They took over a property on the Lower Mouutain-road and engaged in mixed farming. The late Mrs. Christensen lived a retired though active life, devoting herself to the upbringing of a large family. In December of last year she came to Maryborough to spend her remaining days with her daughter, Mrs. W. Clarke, of Frederick-street. She is survived by a family of six sons Messrs. Charles, Carl, and Frederick (Nikenbah), Anton, Pialba). Albert, (Maryborough), and Martin (Bauple), and five daughters- (Mesdames T. Hebblewhite (Nikenbah), J. Readdy (Gympie), W. Clarke (Maryborough), T. Lenihan (Townsville), and Miss Christina Christensen (Townsville. Two daughters predeceased her by 10 and 15 years respectively. There are also 37 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchilden. The funeral will move from the Nikenbah Methodist Church for the Nikenbah Cemetery at three o'clock this afternoon.
