    Late Rev. Barnet
His host of friends at Wollongong and throughout the South Coast generally learned of the death of Rev. Donald McKay Barnet, E.D.,B.A., with sincere regret. The end came on Tuesday last at his residence, 49 Carlotti street, Greenwich.
The late Mr. Barnet, who was 70yvears of ace. was the beloved husband of Jessie, and dear father of Robert (deceased), Donald, Winsome and Mary. A native-born minister of the Presbyterian Church, he arrived at Wollongong from Narranderra in 1903 and labored in this parish for 18 years, being translated to Greenwich, Sydney, in November, 1921. During his pastorate a new church was built at Balgownie and opened in October, 1905.
Early in 1914 Port Kembla and Unanderra were disjointed on the south to help form the new parish of Kembla.
In August, 1919, a new church was opened at Rosemont.
The late Mr. Barnet was succeeded here by the Rev. Hugh C. Wilson, B.A., who was minister from 1922 till 1926, when he accepted a call to Wynnum, near Brisbane. It was during his pastorate that Balgownie was disjointed on the north into a separate parish.
The seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of the parish and the building, of the church was fittingly celebrated during the ministry of the Rev. D. McKay Barnet, in 1912. He also came down to participate in the opening ceremony of the fine new brick church at the corner of Kembla and Burelli street when he ? was accompanied by Mrs. Barnet.
Both were splendid workers for the parish and were held in high regard by the parishioners. For the usual term, Mr. Barnett was Moderator of the Presbyterian Assembly.
On Wednesday the remains were laid to rest in the Presbyterian cemetery, Rookwood.
