The 54th Battalion was raised in Southern British Columbia in 1915 The battalion sailed on the 22nd November 1915 with 36 Officers and 1,111 Other Ranks. Disbanded September 15th 1920.

|Military Cross. 'For conspicuous gallantry and brilliant leadership in Command of a Company in support. During the advance he came under heavy fire, so placing his men under cover he went forward with a runner to reconnoitre. Finding a gap between the two Companies in front he personally lead his Company through the gap to the final objective, suffering many casualties, but capturing several prisoners and machine guns. his coolness and initiative were of great assistance to the two Companies in front'. |
