Accident |
25 Dec 1903 |
Warwick Examiner and Times, Queensland |
From H. A. Palmer, solicitor, under instructions from Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Anderson, of Yangan, in reference to an accident that happened to Mrs. Anderson on 18th July, as the result of, which she sustained a fracture of a leg. It was pointed out that the dangerous character of the roadway contributing to the accident had been brought under the notice of the Council in June last, but without result. His object in writing was not to threaten the Council, but to lay the facts before the members and ask for reasonable compensation.-The whole of the members expressed sympathy with Mrs. Anderson, but felt that a bad precedent would be established in paying compensation to any amount.

OBITUARY.
MRS. BERTHA ANDERSON. Rockhampton, August 23, 1928.
Our Wowan correspondent writes:-There passed away, at the advanced age of 76, on Friday night in the farming area of Dululu, Mrs. Bertha Anderson, wife of Mr. Andrew Anderson, a well known and respected farmer in the district. The late Mrs. Anderson had been ailing for some time and on Monday night had a stroke. Although everything possible was done she passed away at midnight on Friday. Born in Sweden, she, in company with her husband, arrived in Australia 41 years ago and, settled in the district here thirteen years back. She is survived by her husband, one son (Peter) and a grandson (Alan Jensen), who all have the sympathy of a large circle of friends. Seven motor cars followed the cortege from Dulala to the Deeford cemetery, where the burial service was conducted by Bishop Halford.
