A 'William Lofty' is listed as a Past Grand Master of the Loyal Gurney Lodge (Norwich District). Given the propensity for families to stay and marry locally, and for them to use former surnames/maiden names as middle names, it seems very probable that William Lofty is an ancestor of this family.
The same book also lists as 'Brothers', John D Lofty, John Lofty, Harry Lofty, George Lofty, Charles Lofty, Alfred Lofty and William Lofty. [2] |
