    Mrs. A. H. Bergann.
    THE late Mrs. Auguste Henrietta Bergann, who died recently at Witta, was one of the oldest pioneers of the Maleny district. The deceased lady, who was 71 years of age, was born in Germany, and arrived in Queensland in 1885, with her husband. They first made their home in the Logan district, where they remained about six years. They then selected the property which became deceased's home until her death. Her husband died 36 years ago. leaving her with a young family of five children to carve out a home in the virgin scrub. The late Mrs. Bergann was a prominent member of the local Lutheran Church, and was noted for her charitable gifts and benevolent acts. She is sur vived by three sons, Messrs. Otto, Charles, and William Bergann (Wit ta), and one daughter, Mrs. J. H. Tanner (Maryborough).
