• Obituary: 2 Feb 1940, Townsville Daily Bulletin, Quensland; The death occurred last night of an old, well known and respected resident of South Townsvllle, Mr. Gustav Adolph Fagerstrom at the age of 73. Born In Finland, be came to Australia about 46 years ago, landing at Maryborough. He came on to Townsvllle about 38 years ago, and had resided here since then, settling at the Old Rifle Range. 'Old Fergy' as he was more familiarly known to his many friends, followed the occupation of waterside worker and built boats as a hobby. He leaves a widow, five daughters, Mrs. H. Marshall, Mrs. A. Northey, Mrs. H. Hume, Mrs. J. McCarthy and Miss Doris Fagerstrom, and two sons, Messrs Alf and Fred, to mourn their loss.
