    Verna is survived by her children, Tom Odam, Sharon Smith and Linda Schulte; grandchildren, Tom Jr. and Wesley Odam, Jerry, Donny and Jason Smith, Kim Bales and Jodie Coleman; 11 great-grandchildren, and sisters, Evelyn Jones, Eileen and Joyce Farrar, and Marjoree Henry.

    A Graveside Service will be at Mountain View Cemetery, 1411 W. Belmont, on Friday, January 12, 2007, at 2:00 p.m.

A very pleasant social gathering was held at Mr. Jas. Christiansen's, on February 20th., when about 50 people met at that gentleman's invitation to say "Goodbye" for a time to Mr. F. About 50 people sat down to a most sumptuous dinner at about 6.30 pm., after which Mr. Christiansen spoke of Mr. Jessen's long residence in Coolabunia and his many excellent qualities as a friend and neighbour, and presented Mr. and Mrs. Jessen with some momentoes of his goodwill. The Wooroolin Hotel was destroyed by fire at 2 o'clock this morning. A lodger named Christian Anderson, a farmer resident at Tingoora, who was a lodger at the hotel that night was burnt to death in the flames, his charred remains being found afterwards in the debris. The cause of the outbreak is unknown. The property was owned by Mr. Peter Jessen and Mr. Holmes was the lessee.
