Arnott Jr. Sep 7, 2013 Scobie ?Ian? Arnott Jr., 56, passed away Thursday Sept. 5, 2013 at his home in Gering. A private viewing will be held Monday September 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel with burial services to follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Ian was born on August 21, 1957 in Winchester Mass., the son of Scobie Arnott Sr. and Marilyn (Maxon) Arnott. He attended Ensworth School in Nashville Tenn. and later attended Gering High School. He managed and then owned Arnott?s Hardware Lawn and Garden Center in Gering where he dedicated 17 years of his life. He eventually returned to school and attended Aims Community College in Greeley, Colo. where he obtained his Associates degree in Criminal Justice. He was married to the late Ivanda ?Ivy? Arnott for 17 years and together they had two children Krystal (Arnott) Rodriguez and Scobie Arnott III. He took any opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren Adryana, Alyck, and Maxon. In addition he had various hobbies such as photography, and coin collecting. Survivors include his daughter Krystal (Arnott) and Jason Rodriguez and their children Adryana and Alyck of Scottsbluff; son Scobie and Mary (Mumm) Arnott III and child Maxon of Scottsbluff; father Scobie Arnott Sr. of North Carolina formally of Scottsbluff; brother Russel Arnott of Wash.; brother Carl and Kim Arnott and their children the quadruplets Brooke, Brittany, Brianne, and Campbell of N.C. formally of Mitchell; brother Keith and Becky Arnott and children Collin and Teige of N.C.; brother Roger and Jamie Arnott and children Sydney and Hallie of N.C.. He was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn (Maxon) Arnott as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents. Keeping Margaret's wishes, she was cremated and will be laid to rest beside her husband, Alex. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Mitchell Valley Cemetery. Margaret was born in Higgensville, Mo. on June 30, 1929 to Walter and Adah (Short) Murrell. She was raised in Kansas City, Mo. and moved with her family to Mitchell in 1940. Margaret married Alex Strauch Feb. 11, 1956. They raised three sons: Kerry, Korey, and Randy and a grandson, Derek, on a farm south of Mitchell. The family spent many years with 4H animals and lots of 4H vegetables and flowers from Maggie's beautiful gardens. She and her grandson Derek moved to Scottsbluff after the passing of her husband in November 1998. Margaret moved to Heritage Estates in 2009. Margaret was a member of Anchor Baptist Church in Morrill and Scottsbluff. The family would like to give thanks to all the wonderful staff and friends at Heritage Estates who made her stay a happy and enjoyable one for three years. Survivors include her sons, Kerry (Terri) Strauch of Scottsbluff, Korey (Linda) Strauch of Mitchell, and Randy Strauch of Mitchell; grandson, Derek (April) Strauch of Mitchell; sisters, Belva Arnott of Gering, Jody of Wheatland, Wyo.; brother, Lawrence (Diana) Ayers of Longview, Texas; many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Preceding Margaret in death were her parents; her husband; sister, Rosie; brothers, Delmer, Charles, and Bob Murrell; nephew, Andy Pokorny; and grandson, Kodey Alex Strauch.
