    • A COUNTRY WEDDING.

JESSEN-MILLER, A very pretty wedding took place at the residence of Mr. F Jessen, at Coolabunia, on Thursday last, the contracting parties being Mr. H. P. Jensen, second son of Mr. Andrew Jessen, Goorah, to Miss Edith Miiler, eldest daughter of Mr. J. Miller, of Wooroolin. The wedding was carried out in good style. The bride entered the room on the arm of her father, who subsequently gave her away. She wore a handsome gown of white silk, the bodice made with yoke and elbow sleeves of lace, and an Empire belt, of folded silk; the skirt beautifully tucked; an embroidered tulle veil over a small wreath of orange blossoms. A handsome bouquet of white flowers and beautiful maiden hair ferns completed the smart costume.

The maids of honour were Miss Euphemia Miller (chief), sister of the bride, and Miss Lena Jessen, sister of the bridegroom, who were attired alike in cream silk dreses, the skirts made with deep tuck's, and the bodices with bands of silk arranged bretello fashion, edged with rows of fine white lace; white hats, beautifully trimmed with white silk, also white flowers. They carried pretty bouquets of white flowers and asparagus ferns. The Rev. B. Ballantine was the officiating clergyman, and Mr. J. Miller, junr., best man. The dress of the bride was designed and made by a Brisbane firm, and those or the bridesmaids by Miss Maslin, of Tiaro.

After the ceremony was over the bridal party were arranged in a group on the lawn, where their photos were taken by Mr. Neaby. They then moved into the residence of Mr. F. Jessen where a sumptuous repast was provided, a very noticeable feature being a large three tier cake made bv Mr. Barbeler, of Kingaroy. There was a large number of friends present, and dancing, etc., was indulged in till an early hour. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a handsome gold brooch, and to each of the bridesmaids a pretty gold lace pin. Numerous, handsome, and useful presents were received by the happy couple, who are both well known in the district, and highly respected, and are now settled at Wooroolin.
