MR. BERT BUNDESEN.
CLUB'S FAREWELL NIGHT.
Members ri the Fittroy Football Club and visitors from other clubs gathered at the Queensland Hotel last night to bid bon voyage to the captain of the " gallant greens", Mr. Bert Bundesen, who leaves for Mackay on Saturday. There was a splendid attendance, and. thanks to Mr. Jack Thiele. the arrangements were all that could have been desired by the most exacting.
Mr. F. J. P. Conlon was in the chair and speeches vere short, but to the point, with musical items and populur choruses in plenty.
Mr. Conlon, who proposed the health of the departing guest, presented him, on beholf ol the Fitzroy Club, with a gold-mounted fountain pen and a pencil in the club's colours-green.
Numerous speakers paid a tribute to Mr. Bundesen's high qualities as a man who played the game for the games sake, and a player who put his club first and sacrificed his personality therefor, and as a gentleman upon the field.
In this latter connection the representative. Mr. H. Robinson complimated Mr. Bundesen upon his behaviour, in the field, which earned him the recognition of all referrees, and which, by example rested favourably upon his club.
