JOYNER-HEALY.
ROCKHAMPTON. December 18.
A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Larcom, on December 15th, when Colin Percival, second son of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Joyner, of Gladstone, and Mary Satara (Mollie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Healy, of Mt. Larcom, were married. Father McKenna, of Gladstone, officiated. The church was tastefully decorated by the Misses Butcher (friends of the bride). Mr. E. Murphy presided at the organ.
The bride, who entered the church with her father, who gave her away, looked charming in a frock of white georgette over crepe de Chine. The close-fitting bodice was finished with fagotting at the neckline and on the short puffed sleeves. The fully flared skirt hung in graceful folds to her ankles, and was finished with a bow at the waist. Her silk net veil, which was lent by Mrs. Brown, of Gladstone (sister of the bridegroom) was arranged in the cap effect with a coronet of orange blossoms. The bride also wore a string
of crystal beads (the gift of the bridegroom). Her bouquet was composed of white roses and daisies, set in tulle and white satin streamers.
The Misses Catherine and Myrtle Healy (sisters of the bride) acted as bridesmaids and they were daintily frocked alike in pale pink crepe de Chine, with tight fitting bodices and three tiered flared ankle length skirts finished with hemstitching and ribbon belts at their waists. They wore pink
picture hats to tone and carried bouquets of pink gerberas and posies set in tulle and streamers. The bouquets were made and presented to the bridge and bridesmaids by Mr Tom Carroll.
Mr J. Jackson was best man and Mr N. Kiorgaard was groomsman.
After the ceremony the bridal party motored to Belmont (the residence of the bride's parents), where the wedding breakfast was partaken of. Mrs. Healy, mother of the bride, who received the guests, wore a frock of Lido blue coin spot satin relieved with white and a hat to tone. Mrs. Joyner (mother of the bridegroom) wore a figured floral voile frock with a black hat.
The spacious verandah, where the breakfast was arranged, was beautifully decorated with bougainvillea, ferns, coloured streamers, and white wedding bells. Suspended over the bride and bridegroom was a white wedding bell filled with, confetti. The bell was the work of Miss Butcher. The tables were tastefully decorated with vases of gerberas and roses. The three-tiered wedding cake was made and decorated by Mrs. Healy. About 40 guests were present. Mr. F. Gurran acted as chairman. The usual toasts were honoured.
The bride and bridegroom left by the afternoon mail for the South, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride's travelling dress was of kingfisher blue reversible satin. The bodice was trimmed with a pin-tucked yoke and finished with touches of beige at the neck and sleeves. The fully flared skirt was set on a pin-tucked hip yoke. She wore a blue picture hat to tone. The presents were costly, including several cheques.
