• Obituary: 16 Jun 1948, Morning Bulletin (Rockhampton, Queensland; Mr R. W. Harvey After three months illness Mr Ralph William (Ray) Harvey died in Brisbane on May 30, Mr Harvey joined the Railway Department in June, 1913, and held the position of locomotive engine driver at the time of his death. He was of a happy disposition, and that he was held in high respect by his workmates was shown by the well attended funeral at the North Rockhampton cemetery on June 2. He is survived by his widow, residing at High Street, North Rockhampton, three daughters, Mavis Ethel (Mrs A. Rawkins, Wowan), Lesley Ellen and Phyllis Mary, and four sons, Ralph Henry, Harry, Trevor William, and Leonard John. Mr Harvey came from an old Mt Morgan family. His mother survives him and resides with two of her daughters in Brisbane, Miss L. E. Harvey, headmistress of Buranda Infants' State School, and Miss M. I. Harvey, PM.G. Department.. His brother, Mr John P. Harvey, is, Surveyor-General for Queensland. A sister, Mrs T. H. Spence, and a brother, Mr S. C. Harvey (Railway Accounts Office), reside in Rockhampton.
